Hey guys I Just got the 07 mazda 3 accessories catalog from my dealer, and I saw the 2007 head unit is silver it looks really sharp! My question is (if anyone knows), will it install into an 05 mazda 3, are the wiring harness and plugs the same, it would be really cool to upgrade to the silver color and 6-disc changer unit, also same question with the standard climate control unit on the dash.

 

There is a difference in the wiring harnesses for the '05 HU's and the '07 HU's. Mainly that being in '06 the LCD wiring harness was separated so that the HU could be removed, and the LCD could continue to display ambient temp, and ACC info.

I'm not sure if you can just buy the changer portion of a '07 and have it work, but you're trying to get the face plates anyway.

So final answer.... not sure. :P
