Default 05 Mazda 3 5Dr Headlight upgrade.

hi,
I have a 05 mz3 5Dr with hologan headlight. I want to upgrade it to HID, what size of bulbs do i need? any recommendation on HID selection?
I have a set of 03 G35 sedan HID from my friend, just curious if that fit to mazda 3.

If you're adding HIDs to the stock halogen headlight then you need to get H7 HID bulbs. Most likely the G35 bulbs are DS2 and won't fit because they're longer than H7 bulbs.

Mazda's OEM HID lights do use DS2 lamps.... just like pretty much all OEM HIDs. the projector on the OEM HIDs is different from the one in the halogen lights though so it can accomodate the DS2 bulb while I don't think the H7 one can.

The bulb is actually a D2S.

http://www.thexenonstore.com/ I put a set of these H7 5000k in my 05 2.3 4dr. The install was simple, and the color of the light output is the same as the 3 with the OEM HID's. Another rating i would go with are the 6000k's which are more white rather than yellow. I had 8000k's on my car, and they looked awesome, but they tire your eyes out. I would only recommend the 8000k's if you live in an urban environment where there are street lights. Good luck with your findings.

Oh yeah i forgot to mention one thing. DO NOT GO CHEAP with these kits. They will mess up your entire car's wiring if you get a cheap kit that breaks easily. Go with the prolumens, you will be satisfied.

Is the OP looking for color or best output?

He/she doesn't say, but I think we lost theOPover a month ago(?).
Perhaps he didn't know how to setup replies. I had that trouble at first here. This site works differently than the others I am familiar w, and it takes time to figure it out. I got it figured out, thanks to dentinger and Tracker's help in the early days.
