Hey guys, got a 2014 Mazda 2 that failed emission testing with this error. From a bit of research some claimed that this could be a battery voltage issue. Tested the battery and it’s good. Also checked all of the fuses. Any ideas???
Get a real scanner that connect directly to the OBDII Diagnostic connector.
If you are going to DIY diagnosis issues , get better equipment.
Go to a service shop that has a better battery load tester and get the battery rechecked. Also verify that both the terminals at the battery are clean and have a good connect as well the cables to the stater and most importantly the ground.
Than when you have a better scanner check for permanent DTC and more importantly the reason you really likely failed the emission test was an I/m monitors not in readiness. That is unless you had a check engine light or the tester should on the program that you had unresolved DTC in the permanent file .
The more expensive reason is your dashboard is cooked or you have wire damage or connectability problems. If that is the case then you need you go to a service shop that has a certified technician to at least give you the reason for your problems
