Problem with Odometer display
Is there any body who can please advise on if this is an easy fix
I’m wondering please if anyone has any advice on how I can fix this? The odometer has just stopped displaying, I’m guessing it’s going to be an electrical issue, but not sure of where to start!
any advice would be greatly appreciated 🙏🏻
The DIY(do it yourself) (not in any way a service a shop would do) is to discount the cables from the battery negative side first and then positive side. Then disconnect the BCM. Reconnect the battery with the positive side first and then the negative side. Then start the engine run for several seconds then turn off. Then repeat the battery disconnect and connect procedure and when the battery is disconnected re-connect the BCM. Then after you reconnect, the battery restart the engine? Cross your figures.
I repeat this is a DIY attempt only to reestablish the BCM reporting. If the odometer does not re appear then the Mazda should be taken to a Mazda dealership or a service shop that has a certified Diagnostic Technician employed. No average mechanic or claiming Diagnostic skills or a shop that has a Mazda Factory Trained Mechanic.
DISSCLAIMER:
This service steps provided is from one member to another (we will state for this thread and response one DIY to another DIY) and not a service that is in any service manual. This is also NOT a proper service procedure that any service shop would do. But a DIY often can attempt to try things outside the correct service steps in hopes of solving or resolving issues.
The DIY will NOT harm the BCM or ECU if done in the safe steps
