So I need some paint work doing on my wife's mazda 2 but can't find the paint code anywhere on the vehicle, its a metallic blue but like I say can't find any code stamps anywhere

Did you try just giving the VIN to your paint supplier?
You may also double check in the drivers door jam the manufacture tag? Carefully and slowly read everything on it.
