Default Mazda 2 Flashing DPF light and yellow spanner

Hi everyone, need some advice. Got a 2016 Mazda 2 Diesel which has a flashing yellow DPF light and spanner on the Dash.

Have checked the oil and it is above the X mark on the dipstick. Went to the main dealer to get it checked and have said it needs a oil change/ filter, DPF forced regeneration and PCM Update costing £400.

If there an easy fix for this or am I going to have to put my hand deep in my pocket 😭

@Aarons24 Did you ever get this sorted? A relatives car has same issue. Oil has been changed, DPF filter changed. If a PCM update is required perhaps this should be done FOC by Mazda, though they tell me there is no recall regarding Mazda 2 Skyactive diesel (2015 on).

Definitely book it in with Mazda for a software update and ask them to reset the oil data, & DPF data.

Using this procedure, managed to switch off the DPF light on my Mazda 6. Had to repeat this 3 times before it worked. Saved myself a fortune. Thank you very much.
