Mazda 2 clutch vibration - 1st gear
Greetings, first post here and will be grateful for any feedback on this potential issue.
I am intending to purchase a Mazda 2, 2015 to 2017. I have driven 5 different cars, and 2 of them had something a bit odd going on in 1st gear (manual gearbox).
When accelerating normally from a standstill, after a couple of seconds there is a vibration felt in my accelerator foot, along with a quiet buzz/vibration sound. Neither are really distinctive or alarming, just a small sensation through the pedal and the sound, at the same time, for maybe half a second. My wife and I both drove the first car and independently picked up on this.
One was 4 years old, 9000 miles on the clock, one 3.5 years old 20,000 miles.
Has anyone else experienced this?
Whilst it isn't bad now I'm concerned it might lead to needing a clutch replacement in a few years.
2 out of 5 cars leads me to wonder if it's a Mazda 2 thing?

Many thanks, Andy, really appreciate the response, and impressed that you solved it.
We went ahead and purchased a 2017 Sport Nav with 8000 miles on the clock, which didn't have that issue. Recently there have been minor hints that it may start happening, but at least I now know a probable resolution if it does become a problem.
Otherwise a superb little car that we love driving and owning.
