GPS goes dim when lights are on
Bought a 2017 Mazda 2 Maxx today
Replaces the 2014 hatchback that was written off when my daughter T-boned a driver who had her license for only 4 days.
One of the first things we noticed is that if you turn the lights on, the GPS goes very dim, which at night makes sense, but I've not been able to find anywhere if it is possible to override this, so that if for example we were to have the lights on, as we would normally do on a long interstate drive in daylight, just so we have greater visibility to oncoming traffic.
Is it fixed/permanent, or can we brighten it up?

Finally found in the manual that the trip **** in the upper right of the instrument cluster turns as well as capable of being pressed, and it is the twiddling that will override the automatic dimming.
So there's the answer if anyone is befuddled like me.
