Fuel Computer / MPG and Tank Capacity
I'm trying to figure out whats going on with my fuel computer.
I'm not 100% sure what my exact tank capacity is, but from the readout saying empty, its about 35 litres (7.7 gallons) to fill up. When I fill up, my fuel computer says that I can travel 470 miles. As I drive along the miles travelled seems to match the miles remaining (for 470 miles) until I hit half a tank, then the range drops off massively and the computer says (roughly) im losing 3 miles off miles remaining for every mile that I travel.
I only get around 350 miles out of the car.
The computer also says im getting around 41 mpg. 41 x 7.7 = 315mpg. I've also had at least 20 miles out of the car once the remaining miles hit 0.
So non of the readings appear to be correct.
Is there a way to accurately calibrate the computer? for miles remaining and mpg or is all just gimmicky innacurate nonsense?
