Default Drove with flashing check engine light and car died

Hi guys,

I was driving at midnight 12AM then out of the blue the check engine light came on and started to flash I was only about 2 mins or 750 meters from my home and tried to get it home. Once I rolled into my driveway the car died by itself but I was able to restart it after multiple attempts, how screwed am I? What damage could I have caused? Only the check engine light came on.

Yes, I am an idiot for continuing to drive with the light flashing but the area I live in has a slightly higher than average crime rate therefore I decided to drive home instead of sitting on the side of the road waiting for a tow truck to come putting myself in danger of being attacked/robbed.

The car I drive is a 2009 Mazda 2 if it is relevant

Thanks

You should be ok. I would get it towed to your preferred mechanic.
