Angry Drivers Footwell

Hi, can anyone confirm that the drivers footwell carpet stops part of the way up leaving all of the white padding exposed? We have just bought a new Mazda 2 and found this after looking at the welcome light that had been fitted - which in itself was just a bulb.

Looks normal to me.

However it looks like they snapped / broke the plastic trim.

Hi, many thanks for the reply, yes on further investigation it seems to be normal, though they broke the trim and the car is going back in for a replacement. Thanks again for your help, much appreciated.
