Question How did you get this face off?

I have the same Mazda 2 centre console & can't get it off! Please help!!!

had this one, just radio, no cd.

when i removed the panel and the radio unit from the panel, the back look like this:

witch i didn't know was a problem until i bought the center panel:

and realized none of the buttons could get on the new center panel
the pricers are a bit too much
only the center panel took me 257.46$
new hazard switch allmost 100$
still got to get the rear window heater witch si a litle bit more than 185$
and about the same for the air conditioning switch...

1.so if you still want to get onto this, i can give you some part numbers to search the mazda dealer because there are no alternative parts.

2. if this is too expensive there is another solution to get a module witch can read usb pen drives and flash cards....

3. maybe try to put the new HU somwere else.

Like Kozmos stated. To go the modded center console way is possible but its really costly. I've done my research on the parts myself and its really expensive for the parts only not including the labour if you're having it professionally done. I'd go my way, the way if I were you. It looks really easy! I ordered one and its on its way. When I get it and install it i'll let you guys know.
