Default Wiring Harness Diagram

I've search all over the internet and still haven't located an engine wiring diagram for 2004 Tribute(Escape is probably the same). I need this to trouble shoot the "gremlin" that has killed my 04 Tribute- SEE the "Dead Tribute" post.

I'm trying to locate a source of ignition under the hood so I can perform some tests. I don't have a second pair of hands helping me. i.e turning the key while I check for spark and fuel. Not sure I can rig up the coil at and angle where I could see spark.

I also will probably have to trace each wire to the harness connectors on the valve cover and the PCM.

Thanks for all the help so far.

Alldata will not let me copy and paste or would help you with that. It is pretty simple though. The 2 CKP wires go directly to the PCM. You can use an ohm meter to check them pretty easily. The PCM uses that signal to fire the coils depending on it's signal. The coils should have 12 volts with the key on. The PCM uses the CKP signal to ground the coils momentarily much like the injectors are grounded momentarily via the cam sensor input into the PCM to fire them. The 2 CKP wires do have a ground in circuit for the shielding on the wires. It may well ground to the intake brace or lower intake. Check the TPS for 5 volts reference voltage with the key on. If you don't have that the the PCM is extremely suspect.

Thanks. I check all that out. The wiring harness is so tightly wrapped that I can't even see the tiniest amount of wire entering each connector. Don't want to pull/push the tape back, because w/ my luck I'll break the wire.

I had a auto electric guy pull up a schematic, while talking to him on the phone, and he said there was a capacitor between the CKP and the PCM. I think in his rush he saw the radio suppressor, at least from what I've been able to determine. I come to this conclusion from the description of the location he provided. The right rear, top side of the engine, near the two connectors attached to the 1,2,3 valve cover.

I was able to build a long lead w/ a spare factory CKP connector and used it to test the CKP. All good there. Now to find out why this thing won't start. Further info regarding this ISSUE in Dead 2004 Tribute post.

I haven't seen any place where the CKP has a ground. I have had the intake off to install brand new coils and plugs. And off course gaskets

There are about 8 grounds under the hood. One ground on the firewall to the PCM housing. Just below it on the firewall is a ground that runs under the PCM and under the upper intake, bolts to the lower intake. Several grounds just behind/near the passenger headlight. One goes to the lower intake. Several sorta behind the drivers headlight area are several grounds.
