I have a 6 cyl 01 Tribute that does not start after it rains. The engine turns but will not start. Eventually it will start then runs rough for several minutes. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time.

 

Moisture has to be getting into the system somewhere. I'd check all connectors, fuel and electrical, under the hood. Maybe something is loose and allowing some moisture inside.
Is this on cold starts only?

 

Yes, cold starts only. I did a visual check and did not see anything obvious as far as loose connectors or something cracked.

 

Interesting. i'd take a close look at the distributor's wiring and current condition. maybe there's a crack allowing moisture inside when it rains and it's not firing plugs till enough moisture gets evaporated? I don't know if the tribute has an external coil or if it's integrated in the distributor, but i'd start again looking there
