Post Tribute offorad

Hey All,
I've recently acquired an ESV6 Tribute. I'd like to run the occasional offroad trail. What is the largest tire I can install? My heart wants to see 31" tires but what would that entail? I come from a jeeping background and haven't played with the Tribute much. What kind of performance should I expect? Will this baby climb up small hills? I don't forsee any rock crawling especially with its ground clearance. Please share with me details!!

The Tribute is a light duty "truck", it's most certainly NOT a Jeep. It's actually derived from the Ford Fusion sedan which was derived from a Mazda car platform. It has a single speed transfer case so it will struggle up steep hills and strain the torque converter and trans.

It's got enough engine but not enough gear. If you insist on going off road I would add a LARGE auxiliary trans cooler to it.
