Default Tribute engine mods

I need some help. I bought an 05 tribute 4 cylinder/4 wheel drive. It has ok pickup, but I would like to more if possible. Any suggestions? I live in Nebraska and I want to stay away from a cold air filter because of our winters with the salt and sand. Let me know if anyone has found anything. What does anyone think about those ECUs on ebay? Thanks for your help.

Default RE: Tribute engine mods

Have never tried one, but from what i understand the computer is set to the optimum ratio of fuel & air mixture. These cold air intake mods will have little or no effect on them. I would not waste your money.
What about a K&N Filter?, They are supposed to make the air flow a bit better and have less of a drag on the intake side of the engine. This might be better?
