Default Shift lever insert

Anyone know if the color matched insert (bezel?) on the shift lever in an '06 Tribute Auto is removable? I would like to replace or paint it, but cannot seem to pry it out and do not want to damage it. Also have not been able to find the part in Ford or Mazda online catalogs.

This part is only sold together with a handle. To disconnect that part - you need to grab it from the bottom (shown in the photo) and pull this part up and back at the same time. In this lower part it has a small lock. And this part will detach from the handle. If you need black color, then painting is not necessary. Enough to take a cloth and alcohol, and it is good to scrub the silver. Under the silver has a nice black plastic. This is a photo of my Ford Escape. This way I am removed the silver this part. Sorry if my post has mistakes. I'm from Russia.
