Radio Removal

Default Radio Removal

'03 Tribute: I bought 4 of the DIN removal tools and CANNOT get the radio to release. Grrrrr! What am I missing??

I've replaced two of these units over the past year or so. Each time the radio would not pull out by simply using these tools. The problem is with a white plastic guide, it gets stuck on a rusty metal rail that it rides on to provide support to the back of the radio. Here's a couple of pics that show the guide\rail and the dash trim removed to get at the back of the radio in order to pull it out.

Be sure to put the plastic guide back on the new radio so it's supported properly.

Thanks, Clockman. I was FINALLY able to remove it, by continually prying on the sides, until the clips became visable. Quite a nusiance!
