Power Steering Control Module Failed
So about 3 weeks ago but friend bought a 2008 Mazda Tribute,it's ran great up intill a week ago when her power steering went out. My father helped us look into the recall done on the power steering that causes it to fail and he advised us to take it a dealership and they would fix it under the recall. Took it to the dealership they told us they discontinued the recall and then still diagnosed the car to tell us the Power Steering Control Module had failed and quoted us 2,600 to fix it,obviously way too much. Looked online to try and find the Module for cheaper bc my brother can just install it and the only ones I can find are over 1,000. Is there any other route to fix the power steering that doesn't involve spending a couple grand?
