Default Handbrake cable issue

I had problems last week, which necessitated me calling out the RAC. He told me my handbrake cable was stuck on (Passenger side). I rang the dealer (Its a dealer only part :-(..) and was quoted £30 ish for passenger side and £80 for drivers side!! The parts man couldn't tell me why there was such a difference in price. Anyway I got the passenger side done, and guess what? The drivers side was sticking too...So I got that one and had it fitted. After just 3 miles from the garage, there was a knocking noise from the same wheel they had been working on, so I took it straight back. Turns out there is a THIRD part to the handbrake cable (Never mentioned by the dealer!!) which is from the handbrake to the 2 i just had replaced!! Having looked at the 2 new cables while the car was on a lift, it seems that the £30 part has much more to it then the more expensive £80 part!! (Bracket etc)

I just wondered if anyone else had any similar problems with the cables on their tribute?

Thanks, and sorry for going on a bit

Danny
