2004 Mazda Tribute
Fan, will work if I disconnect the ETC and if I jump from battery, fan 40a fuse okay, relay clicks, probe fan motor, 12v, relay power 12v, relay to motor continunity, jumping the relay turns the fan on, ETC has continuity from PCM pin 38.

ETC connector key on 4.6v (should be 5v??)

I can't find the fan motor resistor, the book says its on the upper left side of the fan assembly, I don't see it and I don't see a connector off the wiring harness to that area. Any ideas where to go from here?
