My antitheif arming light won't stop blinking in my dashboard ( key in with red background) when my car is turned off. I tried doing what the Maxda manual said. "turn the key to the # 3 position during the start up process.... then turn off. It doesn't stop the blinking. Does anyone have any ideas? Thanks!

 

It's my understanding that the light is supposed to blink when the engine is off. i.e. lets wouldbe crooks know that the system is armed.
Don't think it will wear the battery down.
