Default 4wd problem

so i just got my 2006 tribute V6 4WD a few weeks back. and i was told by the previous owner the abs light is on for a sensor. so i ordered a new sensor and i planned on replacing it. upon further investigation i looked under the hood to find the original is unplugged. why is it unplugged u ask? i didnt know untill later. so i plugged it in, got my scantool and cleared the codes. light goes off. so as im driving it i suddenly get this hard vibration from the center console like very bad vibration. so i figured somethings wrong with the rear driveshaft. i also figured the abs system is linked to the 4wd system. if a sensor is bad it disables 4wd. the sensor was unplugged because the rear driveshaft is not working right. so my question is, is it possible to pull the 4wd fuse to disable it so i can reconnect the abs sensor so the light isnt lit anymore? am i going to ruin something if i do? i live in vermont and the inspection laws are strict especially with dashboard warning lights btw.

Are you sure its a driveshaft fault and not the abs system malfunctioning?

Comon issue is a split tone wheel that sends the abs system spastic

no other codes in abs system or 4wd system other then related to the sensor when unplugged. it only happens when 4wd is engaged and never when braking.

The AWD is on demand only. Normal driving is only FWD.

im telling you it only happens when the sensor gets plugged back in and the codes are erased. when its unplugged the 4wd light blinks a few times occasionally. telling me the awd system is disabled

what eva, good luck to you. I would be inspecting the tone wheels very carefully.
