Thumbs up 2009 mazda tribute daytime running lamps

Can anyone tell me or know if its possible to disable the drl's?? the drl's are standard features on the 2009 models. If it is possible, will the dealership do it or is it something that can be done by myself?? Thanks!!!

I don't know if this will work for sure, but you might be able to simply pull the relay for them. It should be in the fuse/relay box under the hood and will be marked as such.
Be sure to test everything else that may be affected by doing that though. i.e. make sure your regular headlamps (hi and lo beams) running lights, etc all work w/the relay removed.

The DRL is controled by the SJB [smart junction box] I have not tried yet but it might be a programable item under the program reset function. [Turning the DRL off] You will need a scan tool. If i get a 09 in soon i will check it out and let you know. Hopes this helps

Interesting. An '09 owner that wishes to delete them, and an '04 owner that wishes to enable them.
Quite a contradiction.

haha i just think its a neat feature, and besides its safer, drivers are more likely to see you if you have DRL's because our eyes focus on light easily.

Any ideas anyone?
