Default 2006 Tribute I4 No Pwr/Pickup

I have an 06 Tribute I4 that seems to have very little power. While doing 50 I can mash the throttle and the car will rev past 4000 rpm but will barely pickup any speed. Is this normal for these 4 cylinders? I've driven many 4 cyl vehicles (many smaller in engine size) and they've had great pickup. I have no engine codes it idles fine, but I have notice when cruising there seems to be a slight hesitation, or lagging. Not necessarily an engine miss, since I would think that would set off a CEL code. Any help would be appreciated. Thanks Larry

Ever put in Fuel System cleaner, fuel injector cleaner?
I would also seriously consider putting 2-4 quarts per 1/2 tank gas of lacquer thinner in the gas tank as this would help clean O2 sensors and catalytic converter.
Changing the PCV valve, cleaning throttle body and MAF will also be beneficial.
Ever change the spark plugs! Mileage?

Yes, I have used fuel system cleaner in the tank. Car has 117k on it. I have used throttle body cleaner and there was a lot of buidup inside. I will try the laquer thinner idea though. Plugs have been changed.
