2005 Mazda tribute crank no start
I was traveling from California to Washington . I stepped on gas pedal to pass a car when all lights lit up like when you first start car but it had died cost off road to safe spot ever since can't get it to start. It cranks but has no spark . help please!
First thing that came to mind are the camshaft and crankshaft position sensors.
If either of those sensors flake out, the computer kills the spark because it doesn't know the position of the pistons and sparking could blow up the engine.
I would start with the crank sensor, easy to replace and it's usually the culprit because it takes a much higher heat beating than the cam sensor.

Don't cheap out on the sensor, buy a good one. If you can't get an original Ford/Mazda, then I'd recommend Standard Motor Products which are made in Mexico. DO NOT BUY Made in China parts...trust me...
Please be sure to come back and let us know what fixed it.

That would be the first wrong thing to do. ^^^^^^^^^^
You don’t need to nor should you guess and randomly start replacing parts. Those that do this often create more issues and problems then the original unresolved one. The internet is full of useful information for those that at least know the basics of how a computer controlled or ECU, PCM, TCM operates. Connect to the OBDII diagnostic connector and get the fault data first.
As for made in China auto parts, that is changing in the industry. While that information use to be wise it is less then accurate anymore. For those who keep up on auto parts and manufacturing there are several companies one in China that manufacture and distribute auto parts that are are now as good and in some cases better then OEM . So word to the wise , don’t be ignorant with your information before you check the facts first.
