Ok, my tribute has reverse, 1st and 2nd gear but no drive or overdrive. Trans fluid does'nt smell burnt. Before I spend $1200 on a used trans, I figured I could get some info. The day it went bad my wife said she put it in drive but it would'nt go, but after a moment it went. Later that same day, it happened again except this time it was for good. Any help?

 

My 02 doing the same its fine when cold but when gets hot wont **** in gear.

help please!
