Water in the tail lights
Anyone got any insight on the water in the taillights problem yet? Is the plastic taillight housing leaking at the seems where the black and clear plastic meet or is the gasket at the rear worthless, or ???.

RE: Water in the tail lights
they seem to be leaking at the seam i have had 3 differents sets of taillights installed on my 8 and they finally got one that didnt leak just take it in and get them replaced if ur warrenty is still good its free.

Yup- had the same problem. Take it in have them replace it. The seal is bad on yours. It can take a couple times to get it right.

RE: Water in the tail lights
i had mine replaced but the gasket failed over time again. ended up getting some foam tape and putting it around the holes on the body of the car. haven't had a problem since.

If the warranty doesnt cover it you can have them sealed at a body shop with silicone to prevent further moisture build up.

RE: Water in the tail lights
you can just buy the silicone and do it your self and never worry about it again, its realy easy.

It's a fault recognized by Mazda. They should replace the seals under warranty

RE: Water in the tail lights
i had this problem too i just took my tail light apart dried it out and lined the edges with electrical tape- havent had another leak since and you cant see the tape when its reinstalled

RE: Water in the tail lights
it's a warranty item if your vehicle is still covered
