Unhappy rx8 ignition / immobiliser problems

Advice needed... Help .... Rx8 not starting

Recently whilst driving along all was Well when all electrics went on car, just after I had a slight smell of electrical burning. Power came back on but although all ignition lights etc illuminated the car would not start!
Had vehicle towed home - the battery was still holding a full charge no fuses blown and no visible signs of damaged or burnt wires, have been unable to resolve problem.

I think problem is to do with the immobiliser as when I try to start it the red key light on dash flashes quickly

Any ideas on how to make my car live once more?

The only fault prior to all this was the drivers door lock which wasn't locking on the remote and needed to be locked with the key. The other locks still worked on the remote oh and the coolant level light was on but that was the expansion tank sensor issue which was fixed some time ago. The battery was also replaced a few months prior to this problem.

Try this..... Put the key in the ignition and turn switch to "on". Take "Positive" wire loose from battery and wait 10 to 15 minutes. Put positive wire back onto battery while key is still in the ignition in the "on" position. Car should crank.
