I have a 2004 RX8, with 35,000 miles, that failed emissions due to check engine light. After 2 trips to 2 different dealers, it was determined that the PCM was defective. The part was still under warrantee, all emissions parts warrantee are extended to 8 yrs and 88,000 miles. The problem is that Mazda has no PCM available, the part is back ordered with no known delivery date. According to the information I received from one dealer, this is a problem with many Mazda parts and Ford parts as well. I can not get tabs for the car until I get the PCM and they do not know when that might happen. "SUCKS"

 

Blame it on the slow economy.
