I'm 17 and planning on getting an RX-8. My dad says I have to get auto, I want manual (I know how). How can I convince him to let me get the manual?

 

tell him that if you drive a manual, you'll be able to drive anything. (also do you know how from knowing how it works mechanically or have you ACTUALLY driven one? Because I thought I would no how it worked just be reading about the ****ing systems and such but I found alot of stuff to be not as it seemed, I love it now) Other things parent like are: more controll, cheaper options, better resale value (on the Rx-8 because of it's market), and better mp/g.

 

the biggest reason you could give him for going manual instead of automatic is better gas mileage.

 

I told him that but he said it was negligible.

 

If I was 17 again and my dad said I had to get an RX 8 with an auto, I would take it! If your parents are buying it, don't look a gift horse in the mouth! *just looking at it through a 35 yr old perspective...but I see your point of view*
