Default looking to buy 06

Ok so i have been looking at RX8's for about a month now and I am pretty convinced that this is the car for me but I had some questions in particular about the 06 automatic rx8. I would like to know if there are in problems that existed before 06 that are now fixed in the 06 or do they still exist? Really what I am concerned about is maitnence issues that this car might have, and if i am still going to have these problems in the 06 automatic.

Thanks in advance guys, Stratous

Get a six-speed and avoid all the ATX issues.

All of the autos developed for the RX-8 have had serious problems...overall, rotary engines don't take kindly to ATX setups...listen to V1. Get a manual.

Besides what VB said, and he is correct, the RX8 is a personal Sports Car.Until they develop a DSG/DST (Direct Shift Gearbox/Direct Shift Transmission) for them, autos have no place in one. 'Course, as a life-long standard shift driver, and an old-world sports car owner/driver/builder,I have to admit to being just alittle biased.

Next question, what is a direct shift gearbox? http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Direct-Shift_Gearbox

Richard's right. I don't understand the mechanics of it all, but I know basics.

If you want to put a stubborn sense of logic behind it, echo Richard: autos ain't got no place in sorts cars. [sic]
