My RX8 is getting a very weird sound, like a squeaky belt, when the clutch is not engaged. When you slightly press your foot on the clutch, the sound goes away. I was told that the engine does this...but no freakin way!! It sounds like a loose fan belt or squeaky pulley. I can't track down the noise. I checked the belts and they seem fine..and beside why would the belts create the sound from the clutch not engaged? Let me know if anyone else has this problem.

 

My friends sister has the same problem with her Eclipse, and we found out that the pulleys were tightened too tight, we loosened them up a bit and the sound stoped.

 

sounds like the throw-out bearing, get it checked...

 

It's actually a faulty micro switch on the clutch pedal assembly. An upgrade fixes it.
