Default RE: Engine swap 3rd gen in a 1st gen???

what motor size do you have now? if you have a 13b, it is possible. if you have a 12a, it is still possible, but will take way more fab.

i know that you can take a second gen motor and swap it into a first gen by keeping the 13b front cover from the first gen 13b. i don't know if the 13b and 12a have the same mounting locations, but if they do it would make it a lot easier swap.

the first gen has the mount on the front, the second gen has the mount in the middle, and the third has the mount on the back. just mazda screwing with us i guess. i am also not sure what the difference is on the tranny bolt pattern, but you can swap the tranny in also and have a driveshaft made to fill the gap.
