Default 1995 RX7 Wiring

Hello All,

I inherited my moms 1995 RX7. Bone stock. It was stolen and recovered. They messed up the ignition cylinder pretty bad. Doesn't look like they fully knew what they were doing so I have 2 questions.

1. When taking off the ignition cylinder and multi switch housing I noticed I couldn't get the housing completely out because of 1 wire. Once I took out the massive connector under the dash I noticed there was a orange wire that was tight. So I back tracked it and it goes to the headlight switch on the left side. It appears someone took the green wire (whatever that is) and spliced it into this orange cable. I can only assume it wasn't the manufacturer as its covered in electrical tape and jenky. So, was it the thieves trying to hot wire it? Or a previous mechanic trying to disable some sort of anti theft to make it more idiot proof for the driver? Want to know if I need to disconnect it or keep as is. Point of interest this used to be Mazda's show car (allegedly from what im told) Not sure if they did anything to bypass some stuff or if they would even touch that as it was a show car.

2. I was trying to back trace that orange wire and when I got under the dash I noticed a big connector unplugged from (Code Alarm) Kind of the same question. Was it the thieves trying to bypass something? Or a mechanic bypassing some stock security? I just need to know if I need to plug it back in or not.

Any help would be appreciated
