Default Window

Hi,

My 99 protege's passenger side window is not working. It used to be working fine, but before it went out, in the last stages, I had to pull hard the switch to get it closed or open. Fortunately it stopped working in the closed state. Since then, there is no movement at all.

What could be the reason? And can I fix it myself?

Please let me know,

thanks
Ven

sounds like it may just be a short in the switch. the switches are easy to replace, but kind of hard to get to. you need to pull the door panel to get to it.

Hi Wsoape281,

thanks for your reply. By any chance do you happened to have the diagram/instructions for removing the door panel. If so, could you please let me know it? Or else, could you point me to a place to get them?

thanks again,
Ven

If it's anything like the door panel on the 3 then there are probably a few screws to remove, then there are tension clips around the sides/bottom with a few in the middle..... pull on the panel to release those. Then the whole thing slides up to disengage from the window channel. From there you have access to disconnect the harnesses going to the panel for the switches.

that's pretty much it. just be careful when you think that you have all of the screws out, there is usually one hanging on.

i have the 00 prot. should be the same door panel....

1-at the top left corner under a cap there is a screw
2-inner door handle 1 screw
3-at the top of the arm rest in a cavity 1 screw
4-at the bottom of the arm rest 2 screws ( it is held there by clips just pull should come out)
5-behind the arm rest (once out) should be 1 or 2 screws....dnt remeber

the panel should be held only by clips now just pull gently and it will get undone(when all the clips are undone pull the panel upwards)

might be a little different...im not sure since u have power w/L.... the arm rest might be different but if u look closely u'll find them....
