Default upgrading rims

hey i have a silver 03 protege es with a 5 bolt pattern and was wondering if anyone can tell me if my new rims i want to get (17' motegi ff7's) will be to big for the wheel well if i am also planning to install an eibach spring prokit on the car. i just want to make sure i should just get 16's and the spring kit to be safe, or will it be alright with the 17's and springs. i belive the drop is 1.4 in front and 1.2 in the rear, was also thinking on getting the 17's and the sportline kit that has less drop.
- anyone have this setup?
if so let me know how it rides

Default RE: upgrading rims

so i was looking around and found out that tein might be a better choice for springs for my 02 silver protege es 2.0. i also want to put glossy black motegi ff7 17' rims. im also having trouble choosing tire brands to go with my new rims, anyone know of any inexpensive ultra sporty low profile tires. im going to be driving in PA so i need to be sure im not gonna destroy the car if i hit a pothole after the springs and rims are installed. if anyone can give me any advice id apreciate it (im totaly new at this stuff)

I went with Kumho tires on one of my previous cars with no problems. They were 205/40/16's and I got them at Discount tire for about $110 each (about 3 yrs ago).
