Throttle Cable
Hey everyone,
I'm just starting out in the car arena and have acquired a 95 protege fixer upper. One of the main problems is a surging engine which doesn't seem to respond well when I hit the gas. The problem appears to be the throttle cable coming out of the throttle body. When the gas is pressed, the cable goes slack.
My question: Is this supposed to happen? Is the cable supposed to stay taut and go into the rubber cable leading to the transmission?
My car has a manual transmission and I have been unable to find anyone to help me with this question. Please help.
