Default Running 35 inch mud tires

Hey everyone so I'm having an issue. This noise started yesterday when I'm going down the road, it sounds like I'm driving a lifted truck with oversized mud tires, very loud howling. My tires are balanced, I'm wondering if it could be a wheel bearing but everything seems fine, any help would be appreciated.
Also it's a 1998 Protege with the 1.5 and automatic transmission.

What are you doing to check the wheel bearings?

Are the tyres smooth when you rub you hand around them? In both directions?
