Reccomend me some tires
so my tires are due for a replacement in the very very near future. protege lx touring, 1.8 L, tire size P185/65R14
so my cars struts/shocks are pretty messed up and i feel and hear just about every vibration in the road. So one of my biggest concerns for new tires is being able to absorb lots of the bumps/sounds without passing them up through the rest of the car. obviously lots will but if it could be reduced, thatd be good. all-seasons are needed, but something that will also do well'ish in the winter/rain. I know absolutely nothing about tires or any of the brands, so if you experts could reccomend some brands/models for me to check out thatd be great. I dont need anything super spectacular, since price point is a bit of an issue, but at the same time im not gonna put junk tires on.
Thanks

RE: Reccomend me some tires
long answer; i recommend, for the sake of the tires that you are planning on getting, that you go ahead and fix some suspension problems. i used to have a car that i spent in tires in a couple of years what i would have spent in tires, suspension work, and gas. the suspension effects the tire wear to really great lengths.
short answer; i recommend kumho ecsta's for price and longevity.

It sounds to me like you are not looking for performance, in which case a std touring or grand touring all season would be in order.
The Kumho's are a good bang dfor the buck. I am currently running the ASX's on my 3HB, and the same 185/65x14 KH-18 (Kumho) on my wife's Saturn They have only been on there for a coupla' thousand miles now, but it's the second set of Kumho's for her, 4th set of tires on this car for us (including the originals,) and the first set thatshe actually likes. And believe me, for some one that knows nothing about cars, my wife is hard to please in the tire dept.

My 1996 Protege ES like the Dunlop SF20 or the Yokohama AVID. Both give a sport touring ride, and 35-40K longevity. This isn't bad , considering that I like to use all the cornering that the car can give.
