Default Need Help after timing belt change

I have a 2000 protege 1.6 dohl motor. i changed the timing belt checked all my marks, and no start. i have taken it apart several times and the motor will not start. It was running fine before.

Does anybody have any suggestions? and does anybody know if the 1.6 is an interference motor, or non interference motor?

Default RE: Need Help after timing belt change

here comes the debate again. interference or non-interference. some people/places say non and some say interference.

on to the matter at hand. check to see if the belt is all of the way tight. sometimes, if the belt is loose, it indicates that it is jumping time slightly or that it may be off a tooth (but still look lined up). also, check the tensioner and see if it is turned the right way.
