Good afternoon. I am the owner of a Mazda Protégé 92 DX. Currently I'm having some issues when the car is on idle. After being idle for about 10 minutes, the check engine light comes on and the car dies. Upon waiting 5 to 10 minutes the car will start again. Since I have owned this car for 27 years, first and only owner, I take a lot of pride and I have done a complete overhaul to include a new engine a few years ago. But I can't pinpoint this current issue. It may be an electrical issue but I am looking for some needed advice here. Thank you.

PS. The ignition switch was also replaced by Mazda last year under a recall notification.

 

What fault codes are you getting with the check engine light?

 

Good morning. The mechanic still looking at it, he actually called me yesterday afternoon to confirm what I have experienced several times. I will be more than glad to let you know once I get more information. Thanks.
