Default Mazda Protege 5 strut bar question

Hi All 2003 Mazda Protege 5 Wagon

I need to swap a battery and see that in this vehicle it has a strut bar "like a performace car" I will unbolt it to sub in the battery just wondering if this is really needed or is it just a gimmick ? This is a family station wagon so not a high speed racer. I am just curious if taking it off will it shift and make it hard to get on or is the unibody rigid enough as it is in my 2002 sedan Protege?

Technically it is not needed and most don't really work as the claim So you not reinstalling is not going to really do anything except one last aftermarket un-needed part to be concerned with.

Functional or beneficial strut bars depends on the type of construction and design.
Can you post a picture?.

Ya that is pretty much for looks not needed and because of the small diameter tubing and only a 2 mounting needed it can't do any physical handling or suspension supporting improvements.
You might also look at the fastener's at the extreme limits of the threads. WOW!

But some look good that one IMHO does not even do that.
