2000 Mazda. automatic that I had replaced the alternator belt this past Wednesday. Belt broke already. Is there a problem with belts on these cars? Had a local shop install the belt and it squeeked loudly before it broke. Any ideas? Could the water pump or alternator be gong bad to cause the breakage? Thanks for any help.

 

You may have had the belt out of alingment or had it over tensioned. It could very possibly be a result of one of your accessories going bad too.
