last night while i was driving my 02 protege i went to shift into 3rd gear and it wouldnt go into gear. since, the only gear it will go into is fourth. the shifter will move into various locations like neutral 3rd 4th and 1st every now and then but in all positions the car is still running in fourth gear. could this be in the shifter linkage or internal in the trans? plz help?
