Default lighting problem

got all the turn signals working (bulbs)

dash lights work (except for the heater)
dome light doesnt work but the ones you push on do

1) how hard is it to change the heater bulb
2) the car when I have the lights on and turn on the right turn signal the lights go off anyone have any ideas????
I havent checked the little lights in the bumper if they work or not yet its like 14 degrees out with the wind chill (didnt stop me from changing the turn signal bulbs though)

I can put it in the garage tomorrow hopefully I can get the parts to install the new bumper too

The problem with the lights turning off when using the right turn signal is most probably due toa wire breaking in the turn signal stalk as it goes into the steering column area. There is actually a Recall on this for 95-96 model year Protege that you may be able to get the headlight switch replaced completely free of charge to you pnyklr. The recall is #91007. You can check with your local dealer to see if this is still open on your car or if you will PM me with your VIN or at least the last 8 digits then I will be able to check and see if you can still have this done for you at no charge at local dealer.

Wellgood news pnyklr!!! Recall #91007 is still open on your Protege so you get a brand new headlight switch with free installation. The recall is a bit old so good possibility that dealer will not have parts in stock. When you call to make the appointment make sure that they either have or will order the headlight lever kit to complete the recall so you don't have to make a second trip.
Part number is BCYE-66-122.\
What style of heater control head do you have?? By this I mean do you have a lever or buttons to change the air flow direction. (ie defrost, floor, dash vents). The button style is super easy to access. Lever and cable style a bit more in depth as you need to take more parts off to remove the control cables from the heater case.
