Unhappy I need help with my aftermarket intake install

I own a 1992 Mazda Protege 1.8L and I just bought a Short Ram intake for her. I installed the intake and it wont idle, But I'm figuring its cause of the (MAS), but this intake I bought doesn't have any where to plug the Wiring clip for the MAS into, plus the MAS is too big to remove off the original system. what should I do or is there anything I can buy so I can use the short Ram air intake?

Thanks for reading!

Go back to your custom air intake system supplier, tell him your make, model, engine, year, etc. of your wheels and see if he can sort you out. Or you can often sort yourself out from his website.
RAM intakes, MAF's and IAT's should be treated at he time of purchase as if they were one complete sub-system tailored to your particular set of wheels.
If you don't or can't work this way, you get performance degradation instead of enhancement from your CAI, and you'd have been just as well off to improvise your CAI yourself from stuff you bought at a plumbing supply shop (buying some black tape to mask off your CEL while you're at it.)
Mercifully most respectable CAI houses do have good databases on the CAI accessories needed to match their hardware to your particular car.

well I actually didnt buy it from a store or shop, I got it off craigslist. I could always call and ask a shop how they hook up the short ram air intake if it doesnt have the mass air sensor hook up like mine does. I might have to modify my ram intake and custom fit a mass air sensor onto it. thanks for your input.

Any input is helpful!

have you seen a Mass air flow sensor on a 92 Mazda protege?

You haven't given enough data.
I suggest you go onto EBay, and in the search box type in ('92,1992) protege (MAF,air flow), and tick title and description.
You may only need a $5 - $6 adapter plate for 3" filters systems, or you may need to go the whole hog and get a complete kit.
Be careful; adapter may mean it takes care of the mechanical/ hookup issues only. You have to deal with that of course, but you also have to deal with the MAF electrical signal level compatibility too, so you have to ask a competent person.
Dealing with an EBay online store would therefor be better than dealing with a private or salvage vendor.

What kind of intake is it? cause you could allways do what weapon R does depending on how your maf is. if its like the solid round piece with the maf inside it just get two rubber extensions clamp one side down to the intake and the otherside down to the filter and your good.
But i recomend going to a cold air intake cause there isn't enough air under the hood, basicly my mazda idles at 400 rpm don't ask how its possible but aparently it is. Tomorow when i change oil im gunna have to ram-air the intake.

Cool

I finally Found out how to install a cold air filter on my car. cant use the tubing, but the air filter gets mounted to a bracket that bolts to the mass air sensor. I just made a bracket and installed it with the air filter, sounds great car runs smoother too. Ive attached a picture of mine and a picture I found from another car! so you can see how it looks in the engine compartment!

Anyone that wants to know how to make the bracket msg me and I'll tell you what I used!
