RE: How to replace shift knob

Make sure you getthe new oneon as tight as the old one was. Having the knob come off as are driving at speed, which is the best way to drive one of these cars, can be very disconcerting, plus it tends to piss ya off!!!!

I want to do the same with my 94'. Is it possible? I am afraid to break something since it seems to be screwed all the way to the transmission.

the shifter connects to a fork that links to the tranny, so the shifter doesn't sit in the tranny. the fork is tough and won't be broken just by turning the shift knob.
