How do you remove these double din cd in-dash changers? The usual keys you can buy at the store arent working! Someone said its bolted in but I dont believe them.

Its an '03 Protege with in-dash CD 6 disc changer, no tape.

i have had to make handles to pull the unit out while i am using the key

I have an 02 and to remove the headunit I inserted the keys (You need 4) on a slight angle to the center of the unit. After they clicked in then straightend the keys and pulled. You can see instructions here.
