Default Help my clutch pedal is on the floor

So I bought this 2000 mazda protege dx 1.6 for 500 bucks running but the clutch pedal was on the floor. Upon getting under the car to bleed the system I found that the old slave cylinder had lost the rod that pushes the clutch lever coming out of the transmission. so I replaced the slave cylinder but now I think that the clutch lever coming out of the transmission is stuck in the released position. Idk if it is supposed to be in that position or if it is not and means that the clutch in the car is bad or somehow broken because I am not at all fimilair with the car and this is the first time I’ve attempted this type of fix any help appreciated thanks
